Beaches within 30 minute drive
Although American River is not a swimming beach there are plenty of beautiful beaches nearby for safe swimming, surfing, snorkelling or beach walks with pets. Some you can even drive on in your vehicle.
Our favourites are Pennington Bay for surfing or Red Banks for swimming and beach walks.
A little further out within 30 minutes drive are Penneshaw Beach - Hog Bay, Rolls Point in front of Kingscote Yacht Club.
Emu Bay - drive on.
Island Beach and Browns Beach great swimming beaches.
Most of the time enjoy them all to yourselves. The only crowds you will see are the abundant wild life.
